Police Investigating Parking Scuffle

Kampar, July 7 (J-on) - Police visited UTAR today following a police report lodged by a student who claimed she was "physically abused" by university guards.

The incident occured on Monday morning when the student ignored warnings and insisted to drive her vehicle into UTAR without a car sticker.

However she was confronted by three guards after she had parked her car at Block B.

According to security supervisor, Ravi, he had asked the student to produce her ID card but she reacted emotionally and shoved him.

This prompted a lady guard to restraint her however the student resisted.

"She scratched my colleague with her nails, I tried to stop her then she scratched my arm as well, we were bleeding," he said, showing his arm with a visible scratch wound.

A Department of Safety and Security (DSS) officer was later despatched to question the student however she remained mum throughout the investigation.

The student later lodged a police report over the incident.

Jayaraman Chinniah, a manager at DSS declined to comment as the matter is under police investigation.

At the time of publication, repeated attempts to reach the student involved for response were unsuccessful.
