Kampar, July 2 (J-on) – Some 15 bicycles were dumped into the bushes by Tunku Abdul Rahman College (KTAR) security guards for illegal parking.

The UTAR students had parked in KTAR’s compound, directly in front of the gate linking the two institutions.

Head of KTAR security guards who does not wish to be named said that students were not allowed to park their bicycles in that area.

“If there is an emergency, those bicycles will be in the way.”

“They should park in the bicycle area allocated in UTAR,” he added.

Second year English Language student, Khoo, 20, said that she had parked there because the primary parking area for bicycles at Block D was too far away from her class.

“The bicycle lots at Block B are always full, and my classes are normally at Block B,” she said.

She further expressed shock that the guards had acted in such a manner.

“There was no signboard informing students that they cannot park here,” said an upset Khoo.

However, KTAR security guard chief insisted that students had already been warned.

“We have already put up a manila card on the gate to warn students but it was torn down,” he explained.
