Parking Issue: UTAR Responds in Sin Chew Daily

Kampar, July 23 (J-on) - The management of UTAR has finally broke its silence over the lack of parking issue via a report in Sin Chew Daily today.

According to the report in the Perak metro section of Sin Chew Daily, UTAR stated that there are about 1,300 parking lots on campus and pledged to increase an additional 300 parking lots within three months.

UTAR management was also quoted as saying in Sin Chew Daily that it could not interfere with the developer who began collecting parking fees outside UTAR east gate as it was private land.

However, the it said that UTAR had negotiated with the developer to reduce the per entry fees from RM2 to RM1 and the 6-month parking pass from RM100 to RM60.

The Sin Chew report also quoted a worker of the private parking as saying that the parking service will operate from Monday to Friday and cater to an estimated 400 cars.

Furthermore, it said that towing service is also provided if the cars get stuck in the mud and stones will be laid later on.
