UTAR-MMU to Signify Closer Collaboration

Kampar, June 3 (J-on) – Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Multimedia University (MMU) exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a closer collaboration and interaction in research and academic areas.

President of UTAR, Prof. Datuk Dr. Chuah Hean Teik said that this MoU is to spark a plethora of synergistic opportunities in research and academic engagement.

“It is not about rivaling, but to have joint forces as to strike a new kick start in bringing better impact in Malaysia tertiary education,” he said in his key note here today

He noted that this MoU which was inked on March 18 is intended to establish a basis upon which the two private universities may initiate joint projects involving international collaborative research.
Meanwhile, MMU’s Vice President of Research and Development (R&D), Prof. Dr. Tou Teck Yong, who was also present here, said this MoU marks the foundation in encouraging more academic staffs to work together.

“Both of the universities are looking forward to facilitate academic development exchanges that include mutual visits by faculty members to pursue research, teaching, and to participate in seminars and conferences,” he concurred.
