Kampar, March 15 (J-on) - UTAR students who were unsuccessful in getting a car parking sticker to enter the university compounds are being lured to buy illegal duplicated stickers by their peers, here.

According to the Department of Safety and Security manager, Jayaraman, 61, this work is done by UTAR students who helped their friends who were unsuccessful in obtaining the legal car sticker.

UTAR’s Department of Safety and Security manager Jayaraman said that students can be terminated if found to be guilty of crimes such as these.

“Our staff received a copy of an email from a Chinese forum informing us that there are students selling duplicated car park stickers for RM50 each.” he said.

“I just used the print and scan techniques to make the fake car sticker and promoted it through the forum.

Buyers are able to check and compare the fake car sticker with the original before purchase,” said an anonymous student who was involved in the illegal selling of duplicated car stickers.

“The duplicated sticker is worth buying because I sell it at RM 50 each, which is cheaper than the original car sticker,” he added.

He further explained that the illegal making and selling of car stickers are based on the demand of the students. If the student requests so, he will do it.

Jayaraman notified J-On that any students attempting to circumvent regulations will result in disciplinary action as well as possible police action.

Another anonymous source said that he sells the fake car stickers for RM 100 each, but among friends only. This is to avoid being revealed of his wrongdoing, especially by the university authorities.
