Kampar, Apr 1 (J-on) - Some 40 students stayed motionless for five minutes today at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman’s Block C cafeteria.

The event called April Fool Freeze Flash Mob was organised by members of Dance Club members.

One of the organisers, Tong Zhen Yi, 22, a Public Relations student said that he never expected so many students to be aware of and to take part in the event.

Subatra (the middle) participated in Freeze Flash Mob together with her friends by staring at one direction.

“Because 1.04pm is in conjunction with the date first of April,” added Tong when asked on the reason for starting the event on that specific time.

Gan Shang Chyuan, 20, English Language student who stayed still when he was drinking his beverage said he felt that it was an interesting activity so he came to the cafeteria and took part in it.

“I will take part in this activity again if they still organize it in next year,” a student commented.

Some students freezing and even acting at the same time

The event was notified through social networking site, Facebook and by almost 1.04pm, some of the participants initiated the event by acting as if an argument broke loose by pushing each other and staying motionless all of a sudden.

Their actions managed to draw attention from other students who started joining in the flash mob.

In order to get everyone to freeze on the exact time, the organizers published a link to synchronise everyone’s time to a current local time in Kuala Lumpur.

Many students could be seen taking pictures of the event using their camera or mobile phone

Some students were busy taking photos since they did not participate in the event.
