When you are tired of the crowded and loud environment during peak hours, Brown Secret is the place to go.

Brown Secret is known for their cool air conditioned and calm environment, also the tables are all wooden which makes the environment has that rather, “classical feel so that students feel at home,” according to Siew May Cheng, 37, who owns Brown Secret.

Another thing that makes the place so comfortable is that it prohibits people from smoking since it's a fully air conditioned room.

From what I observe, this is the type of place where students can kick back and relax more gracefully from the hustle and bustle of university life. The price of the food commonly ranges from RM3.50 to RM9.00, and drinks are priced around RM1 plus, which is considered affordable by standards.

The location of the cafe is 2365 Jalan Halah Timah 3, Bandar Baru Kampar, 31900 Kampar, Perak. The shop is just within the vicinity of EU ONE SALON Centre and a bakery shop called Just To Eat, and right opposite Lugano House which is a boutique store for fashionable clothing.

The opening hours are from 11.30 am to 9.30 pm everyday of the week. However, they will have two days off every month. With 13 tables to support around 52 chairs, this place is also an ideal place to throw in a private function like a birthday celebration.

Brown Secret has been established since June 2008, and the aim of the cafe is to accommodate the demand for food since UTAR and KTAR at Kampar flocks in a lot of students.

Food such as spaghetti, Claypot Rice, Chicken Chop Rice and even Lotus Leaf Rice is such a hit at Brown Secret. There is also an extensive array of food dishes of specially crafted at Brown Secret to choose from.

Most of the food would leave you feeling satisfied in taste.

Here are some of the comments given towards Brown's Secret customers.

“The food choices here is enough and every food is quite tasty,” said by Loh, 18, Business Accounting student, KTAR, who wishes to be known only by her surname.

“The food here overall is quite tasty,” said Kun, 18, Loh's friend and course mate, who also just wishes to be known by her surname.

The other food that is worth trying to whet the appetite is the Crispy Chicken Steak Burger which comes along with a generous amount of fries, and on top of that, it comes together with a scoop of ice-cream.

Another worth trying is Brown Secret’s Chicken Wing as it's also quite a popular dish there.

If your appetite is not satiated enough perhaps may I tempt you then with another Brown's Secret uniqueness of having scrumptious JJ cakes which are being bought from Ipoh, Perak. JJ cakes sell off like hot cakes in Ipoh and now at Brown's Secret you can try the same dessert. One of the popular one is the Green Tea Cream Cheese Cake - the taste will lift you up to the heavens and you will wish you never have to come down. However, be warned - do not try it with ice cream as it would mask its awesome taste.

What makes JJ cakes so appealing also is because the cake is made from fresh fruits, no preservation is added and it’s low in sugar. Just perfect for those who like natural taste and sweetness!

If you want to feel a bit of a local Malaysian dishes than perhaps there is also the Nasi Lemak which comes at RM2. It’s commonly ordered by customers who want to have a delightful meal at an affordable price.

Then how about something light you might ask? Then I would recommend to you, perhaps the toast bread with either the traditional bread and butter which most of us are fond of, or either toast bread with ham or even cheese together, and lastly with the warm cosy soft boil egg.

With all the raving about the food, then comes the drink section. Now like any restaurant most of their drinks are enjoyable.

However, if you want to have a recommended drink, then here is one of the comments.

“The peach tea here is nice to drink,” said also by Kun.

Or perhaps, also available would be the warm mushroom soup that warms the soul and sort of gives a therapeutic feeling.

So now you’re armed with this new knowledge, set forth and eat!
