Kampar – 860 colour runners finished a charity run named Colour Divine Run organized by Public Relations Education Community Service Events (PRECSE) from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman last Sunday at the UTAR Sports Complex.

The 5 kilometer run, which had the participants doused with coloured powder at every checkpoint, was organized to raise funds for SJK (C) Sin Min Tronoh Mines in Kampar. By completing the run, participants not only ran for a cause, but also had an unique experience as the colour run was the first of its kind in Kampar. The event, which started at 6am, was officiated by Dr. Cheah Phaik Kin, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Science.

"UTAR Students are earning memorable experiences, and building unique character traits by participating in community services. Besides that, students are given the opportunity to see this life from a variety of different angles, giving them, at the end of the day, a sense of humility for their own lives. So, giving back to the community provides a rewarding sense of pride,” said Dr. Cheah.

The run was completed in less than two hours, leaving the colour runners plastered in different coloured powder from top to toe. Dr. Cheah, Mr. Ng Eng Kiat, Head of Department of Public Relations and Mr. Theva Das a/l Sankaran, Assistant Manager of Sports and Recreation Unit accompanied by Mr. Ting launched confetti to mark the closing of the PRECSE Colour Divine Run and the start of the Colour Divine Rave Celebration.
