UTAR, Kampar: The Friendship Society held an event
called Rock! The International Concert, which showcases talents from different
backgrounds. This event was held in Grand Hall, and the 1st student
organized event to be held there. This event was held on Friday, August 2, at
6.30pm.
The purpose of the event, according
to the chairperson, Rosemary Xavier, “To bring local and international students
to showcase their talents and sharing of different culture. The chairperson is
also the mastermind of this event, along with Shawn Tam.
Performances include Celebrity DJ,
UTAR’s own Dance Club, Opera, Wushu, Hip-Hop and the list goes on. These
performances are unique and one of a kind.

Preparing
for this was not easy, according to Rosemary Xavier, Chairperson of the Cultural Fiesta, it took 10
months to get everything done, from recruiting people to the day of the event.
The Chairperson for Rock! The International Concert, Xander Loh, said, “Inviting celebrities was the biggest
challenge, mostly because of their busy schedule, and of course, the cost.”
Besides,
Rock! The International Concert, there are four more events that will be held
by the same society.
