With the Student Representative Committee Election which has
just recently concluded, we managed to interview some of the committee members
of UTAR Kampar’s Student Representative Committee (SRC)
As students who are out of touch on what is it that the SRC
actually does for our University, we wanted to find out first hand their plans
for us students.
“The first thing we plan to do is to create awareness of SRC
among students” says Eric Moo Hong Yuen who was recently elected as Vice
Chairman.
Luvena Goh, Secretary also agrees and says “It would be good
that SRC be recognised among UTAR students and that they take part in electing
their representative.”
SRC candidate, Eric
Moo, sharing to us what his team are planning for the students.

“We also want to collaborate with Danish House to take care
and ensure student’s welfare in their homes” says Eric.
This comes as good news to students living under Danish
House who have found their management unsatisfactory.
When asked about what other plans the SRC might have for us,
he replies “At the moment we do not want to reveal too much of our plans, less
we fail to live up to those promises.”
Such words do seem to give an air of hope and progress for
our University. Speaking with clarity and confidence it seems the SRC is in the
right hands.
Fellow Vice Chairman Competitor Tang Je Xen though losing
takes it in good stride says “I wish the committee all the best and hope they
will fight for the student’s rights”.
