For Africa, with love, UTAR!

Kampar, 30 Nov (J-on)- It was a fun filled moment for many of the students at Block C Cafeteria, UTAR, who participated in the Waka- waka flash mob, an event organized by the First Aid Society.
The event was graced by most of the students seated at the cafeteria from 12 till 12.10 P.M. where the students danced and had fun in the cafeteria.
The event began by the song ‘Beat It’ sang by the Legendary Michael Jackson and was later continued by the song ‘Waka-waka’ made famous by the hip shaking expert, Shakira. Many of them showed their moves and it was an amusing sight for some of the students as well.
Students have supported the “Waka waka Flash Mob” event by connecting themselves through dance.
The objective of the event was to raise awareness on humanity ‘1 Purpose, 1 Goal’ which is also to appreciate the education that we have now in this era unlike those impoverished in Africa.
According to the organizing chairperson, Jeanie Lim “The event was a successful one and everybody was supportive. We can see it through the response of the participants.”
Running away from the stress of assignments and presentations, it was one moment through university life that many of the students would never forget. 120 students certainly released their stress and through dance.
According to one of the participants,
“I am very, very, very happy! I’ve never felt such joy for a long time. It was one way to bond with other students and also to show our love towards UTAR itself.”
Events such as this should be encouraged as students would be able to relate and socialize with other students. They can also release their ‘miseries’ from their head in a creative manner.
Who knows, we could have found our very own Shakira or Michael Jackson!
