J-On is an independent online newswire established by a group of Journalism (JR) students of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Perak Campus.
Background
In response to lacking of a platform to inform and to educate the UTAR community by using information technology, a group of JR students which were from JR Year 2 Trimester 3 in year 2009, who were also the 1st batch students in the campus, decided to set up an independent online newswire. The establishment of J-On was the brainchild after a joint discussion session on November 20, 2009.
