FINAL UPDATE

Kampar, October 31 (J-on) - Police cut short a Halloween party at a bar in new town when officers from the narcotics department raided the premise at midnight.

A total of 98 people, many of whom were students were taken to Kampar District Police Headquarters in at least 2 police trucks and 4 vans for a urine test.

When contacted, Chief Inspector Hafizuddin Amin Abdul Ghani who led the operation said that it was a routine check.

When asked why an on-site urine test was not conducted instead, he explained that it was to ensure a speedy process.

"There are no specific rules that require us to conduct the urine test at the location and this is also to make sure that the process of conducting the test is done as fast as possible," he said.

All 98 people who were screened were clean and were subsequently released at around 2:45am

"There were no traces of illegal substance in their urine and the police sent all of them back," said Hafizuddin.
